Intro: Here is the first Level Of The Day addition. I originally played this map when Sarge first released it back in 2005 and I had this level listed in my Best Of Doom section for awhile (I don't remember if I ever uploaded it tho. Heh!). I had plans on resurrecting my 'BoD' area but I turned it into this instead. Anyhow the level has some very dark areas and the first screenshot on the right of this page I had to lighten up a bit. Both screens shown here are taken in Doomsday. I took some shots in GZDoom but I had problems with getting the brightness/contrast set right so I gave up and didn't like the screens afterwards. The thing is, Doomsday reveals holes in the floor where Sarge has some sector based lighting tricks going on and that looks weird, so be aware of that anomaly (if you use Doomsday). So if you're going to play this map, I would suggest trying ZDoom or even GZDoom..... hell even Legacy. Originally I played in Legacy and don't remember having any problems.

Comments: This map is pretty fun and has a lots of nice details and includes interesting architecture and texture use.. I like how Sarge Baldy created broken brick walls in spots with perfectly aligned textures. The ammo is pretty tight and I ended up using the chainsaw to conserve a few rounds. I found all the secrets and the plasma gun secret was a small challenge to uncover. Fun map!
Author Sayeth: "The theme kind of goes all over the place. I spent over a year on this map so maybe it isn't all that consistent. It's kind of an experimental design, and maybe it's ugly. I've spent too long looking at it to tell anymore."
