Intro: I
was just looking around the /idgames site
and spotted this map and decided to try it
out. I played this in ZDoom and the screenshots
are from ZDoom as well.

Comments: Can
you say Mayhem! This wad is pure action all
the way through with lots of monsters beaming
in for the kill. The level is big and took
me something like an hour and 45 minutes
to finish on UV mode. I actually played this
over 2 days because it was getting late on
the first day and I needed to get some sleep.
Overall the map is a lot of fun and although
Russell isn't stingy with the demons, he
provides enough ammo and health to help you
get the job done. I died a few times and
chances are you will too. At one point I
was down to 18 health and that's when a bunch
of lost souls appeared. Somehow I chain-gunned
the lot and made it through to the health.
It's moments like that, which make this a
memorable wad, at least for me. ;) Furthermore
this is a nice looking level with lots of
familiar areas... (see below). This is definitely
worth the downgrab.

Sayeth: A
single one-player level for ZDoom, built
as a tribute to ten years of Doom. For
this map I took inspiration from a number
of sections of maps from both Doom and
Doom2. These sections where rebuilt from
scratch and re-interpreted in the process.
The result is a tech base level full of
detail and ZDoom features.

A page Russell
put up detailing the areas he re-interpreted
from Doom and Doom 2 that he added to his
wad.
